Intentional Living

When I held a full-time position as an Assistant Principal at an Elementary school, something I learned from our school’s Principal was the importance of being intentional with your actions. Everything she did was purposeful. While not always clear to me in the moment, inevitably, down the road it was obvious that a well laid stone had been placed on a path toward something bigger and more important. Being in the presence of someone who lived her life with such intentionality was truly a blessing! I learned that while the destination is important; the journey towards that end is paramount.

A GPS cannot always anticipate roadblocks, but God can!

Your car’s GPS works in the same way. Before leaving point A, it has calculated the route to point B. Provided that there are no detour causing roadblocks, you will arrive (God willing), happy and whole and in a timely manner. Ah, but the roadblocks. The GPS was not anticipating those. Neither were you! But guess who knew about them? And guess who has a plan for you to get beyond them?

God is very intentional. He has a plan for your life and He will test your fortitude while strengthening and encouraging you. I am excited to live an intentional life which begins with loving God first and foremost. Do you love God first? Do you thank Him for all the goodness He has given you? Do you live on purpose for His purpose?

The work we do here on Earth prepares us for our reconnection with God in heaven. By carrying out the deeds He has set forth for you here on Earth, you will be prepared to receive the joys and riches of heaven that await. Are you living your life in the word? Can others attest to the light of faithful intentionality that radiates through the words you speak and the actions you make? The enemy may throw a barrier in the road but you must continue walking the path of intentionality. Indeed, if it is God ordained, each small step will bring you closer and closer to living a life built for God’s glory.

All things are working for my good.

You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might. Deuteronomy 6:5

Dear God, thank you again for your love and light. Please help me to live a life of intentionality and please bless the stones that are laid on my path to you. I desire a life lived for your glory. In your holy name, Amen.

What has God laid on your heart today? He has already ordered your steps for the day. Before making important decisions or significant choices today, be mindful and listen for God’s instruction. He will be your GPS and He will not steer you wrong!
